The top 10 ways we keep our events safe.
Safety seems to be a hot topic on fet this week, so here are our top 10 ways we keep our events safe.
- Anyone at our play events has been vouched for by another member of the community. Generally people are cautious who they’re willing to put their name to. We trust our community and they trust us.
- We have cctv which is viewable from the nook, and conveniently from the bar which, if we’re not DM’ing we are watching.
- We personally communicate with attendees before events when you buy your tickets. This is a prime opportunity to ask any questions. Pre pay tickets means we can assure you we know who’s in our venue.
- Our hosts/staff are known in the community, if you don’t know, your staff are @SpicyMcJamie & @Kimmybug. If for any reason we are not available, we allocate responsibility to one of our willing volunteers. They are always made known at the time.
- We have strict rules, you can read them on our groups, website and on the wall at @TwistedBoudoir. We welcome questions if you’re unsure about anything, ask.
- We have created a close relationship with other (almost all) hosts and organisers in the South West. We celebrate each other’s successes, swap best practices, but we also share relevant information. Bad news travels fast.
- We have a strict ‘no tolerance policy’ no amount of money or ‘bums on seats’ or friendship will change this. Moral integrity is everything.
- We hosts numerous workshops throughout the year because education around kink is imperative. These are open to the whole community. No vouch needed.
- Jamie has personally participated in workshops regarding consent and negotiation and Kimmy is a southwest regional contact for the UK safety alerts group. We’re constantly educating ourselves and have our ear to the ground.
- We have been doing this a really long time. We have vast experience and we are still always looking for ways to improve our safety protocols. There is no excuse for complacency.
